Term 3 - Traditional Tales Continued!

Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely holiday and have recharged your batteries ready for more fun and learning. We are ready to dream big and achieve our goals!

This term we are learning all about some other traditional tales such as The Gingerbread Man, Little Red Riding Hood and a special book called The Jolly Postman to link with our special visitor.

Thank you very much for the WOW stars we have received so far. It has been lovely reading about your achievements and we cant wait to read more of them!

We have been busy counting this week. We thought about strategies to count objects that cannot be moved. We particularly enjoyed the counting sound game.

We have been learning about the Ginger bread man. We investigated what would happen if the Ginger bread man got wet and decided to see if other materials would change if they got wet too. Class one made some super predictions about what would happen and recorded whether the materials  would change or stay the same.

"It will go mushy"

"It will go squishy"

"It won't change. It is hard"

"It floated."

This week we have explored the story of Little Red Riding Hood. We were lucky enough to have Booster Cushion Theatre come in and perform a fantastic show around the story of  Little Red Riding Hood. The children had a wonderful time!

All of Year R would like to say a big thank you to Harry R and Luca's Mums for coming in and working with the children during creative week!
