Through the use PE schemes, such as Jasmine and Drums Alive, each child develops competence, enthusiasm, sustained physical activity, engagement in competitive sports and knows how to live a healthy lifestyle.

At Shears Green Infant School, we aim to give children the opportunities to learn the skills and knowledge that will prepare them for life in an ever-changing digital world. We provide children with the information needed to stay safe online and prioritise this in all our computing lessons. We ensure we deliver a progressive framework so children will have the understanding necessary to uncover problems and find solutions when using technology around school and in their daily lives.

Computing Overview 

Our study of art aims to engage, inspire and challenge children, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art.

Art Overview

Design and Technology has become more important in the new curriculum, setting children on the path of becoming designers and engineers of the future. Children will learn about how key events and individuals in design and technology have shaped the World.
Greater emphasis on cookery with a focus on savoury dishes flows throughout the curriculum.

DT Overview

The R.E. curriculum is based on the Kent Agreed Syllabus. It covers a number of questions about the belief and practice of Christians, Jewish people and Muslims. It encourages discussion and the sharing of ideas. Our curriculum also includes celebrations and beliefs reflective of our school community; for example, Sikh traditions, Celebrating Diwali, Chinese New Year and other relevant cultural celebrations.

RE Overview

"Jigsaw PSHE perfectly connects the pieces of Personal, Social, Health and Well Being education. 

The programme teaches children and young people emotional literacy, social and life long skills, RSE/RSHE and resilience in an age appropriate manor. 

Jigsaw gives children and young people the tools to have the best possible life.

The programme equips them for happier and healthier lives, giving them agency to make their way through the world."
