Uniform

All the children at Shears Green wear a uniform right from the beginning. It helps them feel grown up and part of the school. The school colours are royal blue, white and grey and all the items are standard to most of the local chain stores.

Items of clothing with the school emblem are available to buy online via 'Monkhouse' if parents wish to buy them but they are optional.

Uniform can also be purchased from local high street providers. We have donated uniform on site that we can share with parents at their request. Please call the office for further information.  

SHOES - These should be slip on with elastic or Velcro fastenings - no laces please unless your child can manage these by themselves. Shoes should be sensible for everyday play outside i.e. no trainers, flip-flops, high heels or boots.

PE - All children come into school wearing their PE kit on a PE day. Children need to wear black shorts and a plain white t-shirt.  In winter the children can also wear black jogging bottoms and a black zip up hoody.  Plimsolls should be the black slip-on type or velcro trainers (unless your child can tie their own shoe laces). Please note that for some aspects of PE children work barefoot.

Everything your child wears needs to be marked with her/his name, most especially plimsolls and jumpers.

Girls

• Jumper / Cardigan - Royal Blue
• Polo Shirt - White
• Skirt / pinafore – Grey
• Jogging bottoms – black (in Year R only) - optional
• Long trousers – grey or black, regulation school style (in Years R & 1 & 2)
• Summer dress   - blue and white or Short trousers - grey or black, regulation school style
• Black plimsolls – slip-on/Velcro fastenings only
• PE kit -  White t-shirt and black shorts and or jogging bottoms (no leotards) with a black zip up jacket or hoody
• Wellingtons [all years]
• Showerproof jacket/cagoule for Play Garden sessions (Year R and Year 1)

Boys
